Silica) for production of all crucibles for the semiconductor

Transparalucent (Type TPL) fused quartz crucibles are
manufactured to the industry's highest standards, and subjected to
stringent quality control throughout every step of the production
process, resulting in crucibles of outstanding purity 99.9+ %
Si02.

At the
elevated temperatures required for silicon crystal growth (1421
degrees C), QSI crucibles, because of their purity, maintain a
high viscosity of the melt. Unmatched internal
surface purity

All QSI
crucibles are easily recognized by their external surface and
transparalucent appearance. The smooth, clear internal surface is
subjected to a special proprietary, four-step cleaning process to
remove any surface impurities. The clear internal surface of QSI
crucibles extends outward through 99+ percent of the wall

Although fused
quartz products generally contain visible flaws such as
inclusions, bubbles, ripples, etc., QSI has earned a reputation
for minimizing such irregularities through strict material and
production control

Each QSI
crucible receives a thorough 100-percent inspection at each phase
of production. Proper configuration is assured by careful template
gauging, with an allowable tolerance of only +000/-.125.

All QSI
crucibles are supplied with a ground beveled interior edge to
prevent chipping during loading and handling.
This

Broad
range of sizes

QSI crucibles
are available in sizes from 8 to 24-inch diameters. A list of
standard sidewall thicknesses and tolerances, ranging from 6 +/-
1.2mm to 10 +/- 3.5mm, is available upon request. Heavier wall
thicknesses are available but must be specified with order entry.

QSI also
offers precision diameter crucibles (up to 24-inch diameter)
manufactured to tolerances as close as +/-.020

Non-standard
diameters/heights are also available.
